Their Emergency Animal Medical Technicians are on the ground seven days a week, responding to complaints of wounded stray animals and abusive pets. And if they come upon a pet in need, the veterinarians at the Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital will be there to assist them. This hospital is the Southwest’s biggest shelter-based trauma center, treating almost 11,000 homeless dogs each year. The rescue does not have a central location as their foster homes are spread across the United States in states like Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Texas.
They also rescue Doberman mixes and other canine breeds on a case-by-case basis. This dog is one of the best guard dogs due to its protective and territorial nature. However, many fall through the cracks and end up euthanized or roaming the streets due to overpopulation.
